A Welcome from The President, Kari Obernesser
Hello and welcome to the Rocky Mountain Business Travel Association,
I have been a member of RMBTA since 2004 and active in the travel industry for over 15 years. My passion for the travel industry is driven by its prominence in our local and national economy and the people that represent it.
I am proud to represent RMBTA as President for the 2012-13 term. We experienced incredible accomplishments during my Vice Presidency in 2010-11. RMBTA grew our membership by 32%, became a partner of GBTA’s political action committee (PAC), hosted GBTA educational days and hosted the GBTA 2011 convention in Denver Colorado. RMBTA and Denver made their mark as is relates to business travel and tourism. My goal over the next two years as your President is to keep this momentum going.
Our members are the most important resources for RMBTA. The 2012-13 board of directors are dedicated in providing unparalleled education and networking opportunities to benefit both our allied and direct members. However, I encourage you to embrace your membership, take advantage of the networking opportunities we provide, join a committee, apply for a scholarship and maximize your presence within our organization.
The association will continue to address business travel issues and to serve as an important resource for business travel issues for the Rocky Mountain region. Our travel industry remains resilient. Again, I encourage our members to be engaged in how we shape the future of our industry. RMBTA seeks to provide our members with the catalyst for change and adaptability in this ever changing new economy. Our educational programs are delivered by the best in the industry. We are also an advocate and partner of GBTA’s political action committee who is our voice on Capitol Hill.
Together, with my astounding board of directors and membership, we will make a difference to positively impact and shape the business travel issues here in the Rocky Mountain Region.
